Dallas’ trailer-park goddess Edna Jean Robinson unites the queer community to remember the late Fred Phelps.
Why should gays observe the poisonous Westboro Baptist patriarch on Memorial Day?Fred’s desecration’s of American soldiers’ funerals was so repulsive that mainstream “hate the sin” Christianity began distancing themselves from the God Hates Fags cult, fearing guilt by association.
Westboro Baptist is so twisted that the church allegedly excommunicated Fred during his dying days because Fred was considering a Kevorkian-esque exit…His children even denied Fred a funeral.Every liberal American who enjoys exercising freedom of speech owes the Phelps a smidge of gratitude. Westboro ultimately helped the Supreme Court uphold and protect our beloved First Amendment — no matter how extreme or distasteful the message.
With its fife ‘n’ drum backbeat, sing along with Edna Jean as she marches towards Dallas City Hall. And this Memorial Day, remember our fallen military personnel — especially in a country whose armed forces no longer discriminate against gays.
